Google lists the requirements via the Steam on ChromeOS Beta landing page, stating that Chromebooks must use at least an Intel Core i3/Ryzen 3 or higher CPUs and at least 8GB of RAM.
There are a few requirements to be aware of if you are looking at buying a new Chromebook and want to be able to play Steam games.
